The History of Appalachia Business Communications Humble beginnings. We are proud to claim them at Appalachia Business Communications because they say so much about how far we have come. In 1970 Appalachia Business Communications started with a staff of three in Knoxville, Tennessee. Today, Appalachia Business Communications is one of the largest photocopier headquarters in East Tennessee. Appalachia Business Communications opened in June 1979 in the Colonial Heights area of Kingsport, with a staff of two. The Kingsport office has since grown to a staff of ten consisting of four factory trained service technicians, four sales personnel and an administrative staff of three. In 1990, we moved to our present 7,200 square feet location in Gray, TN. From this location we are an authorized dealer for TOSHIBA Electronics; servicing TOSHIBA Copiers and Facsimiles in Upper East Tennessee and Southwest Virginia. Our commitment to service has helped us to become one of the largest photocopier dealers in the Tri-Cities area.
